Notes from the Black Room was the result of photographing and interviewing over 120 strangers. An attempt to dissolve the 'otherness' was exhibited in Goa November 2019. The show returned in January 2020 on popular demand.
Her visuals and words have populated billboards and luxurious properties in Asia for over 20 years. She is the founder of White design; a branding, advertising and design studio, opening 42 International hotels for the Marriott Group of Hotels, Hyatt Group, Fairmont and others. She spent her early career in advertising with Ogilvy Singapore.
A solo summer in Spain with a Midori notebook and a Sony camera, revealed the time had come to walk toward deeper questions. An intrinsic curiosity of who she is, her notions of identity, embedded beliefs, the world as it is today, the daily distractions, the despair of human existence, and the delight found in details has been a lifelong pursuit. An academic interest in the convergence of quantum physics, ancient philosophy, advancements in neuroscience unfolded concepts that resonated with her early introduction to art at home, and relentless hours in museums world over.
Pause Project is an Instagram project, inspiring over 1000 people every week to relook at life, to shift perspective during the pandemic through photography.
She is currently working on deconstructing belief structures, scavenging through the debris, mesmerised by the stories that glisten in silence. That's when she is not the craziest in the room, pouring you wine, and then some more. She would have quit smoking but can't let go of her cigarette holder. So that's that.
